7th Annual Danbury Project Homeless Connect – December 13, 2013

On Friday, December 13, 2013, the Greater Danbury Continuum of Care in conjunction with the City of Danbury’s Housing Partnership will host its Seventh Project Homeless Connect.  The event will be held at Western Connecticut State University, 181 White Street, Danbury, CT. in the Bill Williams Gymnasium on Osborne Street.  Free parking is provided in the adjacent parking garage.

Project Homeless Connect is intended to change how business is done in local communities when it comes to expediting outcomes, lowering barriers, removing obstacles, and increasing results for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  Public and private sector resource providers work side-by-side with a focus on problem-solving and results.

Over the course of 2012, the number of homeless individuals and families has increased along with those at risk of becoming homeless in the Greater Danbury area; and last year community citizens, non-profit organizations, governmental and corporations partnered together and provided much needed services to over 150 individuals and families.  Given the state of the economy, and high rate of unemployment, a rising number of people are in need of simple basic needs and services and this year we anticipate participation by a minimum of 200 plus people.

Please plan to attend this much needed public event.  You do not need to be homeless to attend!!  Again, due to hard economic times, many people need essential and critical guidance, referrals and general information to assist themselves and their family.

The doors open at 9:00am, breakfast and lunch are provided free of service by Walsh Catering. We hope to see you at Project Homeless Connect.
