Description
    The City Clerk works with the Mayor and the Common Council to serve the citizens of Danbury. The Clerk serves as the “superintendent” of public records, ordinances, resolutions and minutes of the Common Council meetings. In addition, she also attests and seals official documents. The City Clerk’s mission is to ensure that the City's legislative processes are open and public by providing a link between citizens and government. The Clerk is dedicated to the dissemination of information, and to providing access to records which are required to be stored for legal and business purposes.

 

Successes
    Throughout the year the City Clerk’s office received and stored, among many other documents, claims and lawsuits against the City of Danbury. Jean worked closely with the Mayor’s office in leading over 20 tours of City Hall for our local school children. Jean pays special attention to the legislative branch of city government during the tours, guiding the children through a mock Common Council meeting and vote. In addition, the Clerk has recently begun the tremendous task of converting older documentation to an electronic format in order to provide residents with easier access to archived information.
