Description
    The Department of Health, Housing & Welfare offers many services to the Danbury community. Divisions within the Department work on all aspects of public & environmental health. The Department also assisted in a multi-agency response to Danbury’s anthrax incident through the Federal Unified Command System. The Department filled a key role as a local liaison to the US Public Health Service, USEPA, US Centers for Disease Control, Connecticut Department of Public Health, Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection and other responding agencies. The Division was active throughout the entire incident period, extending from September 2007 to the 2008 recovery and debriefing phases.
