    In addition to the obligations of the Board as set forth in the Connecticut State statutes and in the Danbury charter, the purpose of the Board of Directors shall be:

• To determine and formulate policy of the Library;
• To promote the library program in the community;
• To work to secure adequate funds to carry on the library's work satisfactorily;
• To deal with suggestions, complaints or petitions which are presented to it in writing by members of the public;
• To receive and disburse funds from the statewide borrowing program known as "Connecticard".
