Statement of Mission: The Fair Rent Commission of the City of Danbury was created for the purpose of maintaining reasonable rental rates and eliminating excessive rental charges on residential properties within the City of Danbury. The Fair Rent Commission will investigate and act on complaints, inquiries, and other communications concerning alleged excessive rental charges in housing accommodations in Danbury.

    The Fair Rent Commission was created in 1979 for the purpose of maintaining reasonable rental rates and eliminating excessive rental charges on residental property within the City of Danbury. Any tenant living in Danbury is eligible to file a complaint with the Fair Rent Commission. It will investigate and act on complaints, inquiries and other communications regarding alleged excessive rental charges. There are nine Commissioners appointed to this body.
